DURATION:
This 5 day course involves theory and practice of Scaffolding techniques. At the end of this course candidates will be proficient in scaffolding techniques.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
After successfully completing this course, applicants will be able to:
Effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area
Effectively apply risk assessment and hazard management procedures at an advanced scaffolder level
Effectively complete the planning, erection and dismantling of scaffold systems, in accordance with procedures, including a minimum erection and dismantling of:
- a hung scaffold, and
- a suspended scaffold
Effectively conduct compliance inspections of scaffold and scaffold equipment for advanced scaffolding
Complete handover certificate as required
CERTIFICATION GAINED:
All successful applicants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment:A High Risk Work Licence with the relevant Scaffolding class will also be issued by Worksafe WA.
PRE REQUISITES / LLN:
High Risk Work Licence in the Scaffolding Intermediate (SI) class is required.
All learners must be at least 18 years old and able to read and comprehend English to a level that will enable them to safely perform duties as specified in the competency standard. MSTS recognises that some learners may require more support to meet the requirements of the training course. We will endeavour to meet these needs with regards to; language, literacy and numeracy skills. Learners are encouraged, prior to commencing the course and where applicable, to complete an MSTS LLN analysis, which will assist the Trainer/Assessor to interpret individual skill level and manage this from the onset.
