FAQ

Are your qualifications nationally accredited?

MSTS offers a large number of nationally accredited qualifications as well as some non-accredited.

Can I still use my Blue card, or do I have to upgrade to the new White card?

Yes, you can continue to use it. Both blue and white cards are accepted as by the regulatory authority as evidence that induction training has been completed. Blue & White cards have now been given no expiry date. The only instance an employer may not accept a blue card is if it is a site-specific requirement to hold a white card (as it is more current).

Do I need to book for courses and how do I book?

Bookings are essential as numbers are limited for each course. Bookings can be made in person at the office, on our website, by email at reception@msts.com.au or by calling us on (08) 9581 8333.

A minimum 50% deposit is required within 24 hours of booking to confirm your position. The remaining balance is then due on the morning of the course. Payments can be made in person (cash and EFTPOS available), via credit card over the phone or bank transfer. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, we will need a copy of the transfer confirmation so we can locate the payment once received.

What is a USI (Unique Student Identifier) and how do I obtain one?

From 1 January, 2015 each student will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to obtain their certificate or qualification from their Registered Training Organisation (RTO), when completing nationally recognised training in Australia. A USI gives you access to your online USI account and you will be able to view all your training records in the one place.

To obtain a USI you will need to visit the website www.usi.gov.au and click on create USI. You will need your identification to create a USI. Once you have your USI, keep it in a safe place as you will need to provide it to your RTO every time you complete training.

What is the Worksafe application fee for?

High risk licenses are issued by WorkSafe WA. If you complete a High-Risk course with us, a Worksafe application form & fee will need to be sent off to Worksafe for this. In return you will receive a High-Risk licence card with your qualification/s on it. This is mandatory for all High-Risk courses. We collect this fee from you and submit the application on your behalf.
